The life-long female friends of the popular titular book club are writing their next destinies in the anticipated exclusive collector’s edition home release of the hit sequel, ‘Book Club: The Next Chapter.’ Universal Pictures Home Entertainment will distribute the movie on Digital this Friday, June 30, and then on Blu-ray and DVD on Tuesday, July 11.

‘Book Club: The Next Chapter’s home distribution will include brand-new exclusive bonus content. The bonus features include ‘Book Club: Back in Session,’ during with the filmmakers and cast, including the four lead actresses, talk about what made the first movie such a mega success, why they’re excited to be back and the journey these characters take in the follow-up.

The bonus content also includes ‘Still Stylish,’ during which costume designer Stefano De Nardis discusses the process of dressing the four legends of fashion and cinema. The conversation focuses on how each character’s style was created and how it melds with the actress portraying them.

Another bonus feature is ‘The Women in Italy,’ in which the filmmakers and cast discuss the experience of shooting in some of the most iconic locations on earth. They also talk about how the idea of shooting in Italy came to be and what it was like making a movie in Rome and Venice amongst the actual tourists.

The sequel to the 2018 romantic comedy, ‘Book Club,’ is based on characters created by filmmakers Bill Holderman and Erin Simms. Like its predecessor, the latest entry in the franchise was written and produced by the filmmakers. Holderman also returned to the director’s chair for the series’ new installment.

Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen and Mary Steenburgen reprise their roles of the franchise’s four protagonists – Diane, Vivian, Sharon and Carol – in the follow-up. Craig T. Nelson, Andy Garcia and Don Johnson also reprise their characters in the sequel, which also features series newcomer Giancarlo Giannini.

‘Book Club: The Next Chapter‘ follows the four best friends as they take their book club to Italy for the fun girls trip they never had. But when things then go off the rails and secrets are revealed, their relaxing vacation turns into a once-in-a-lifetime cross-country adventure.
