The key to escaping a loop of bad fortune for many people is not being upset by what happens to them, but instead how they react to it. A group of small-time, down-on-their-luck crooks are learning how to trust and take care of each other as they plan, and try to escape from, an ill-fated heist on Christmas Eve in the new stoner comedy, ‘Vandits.’
Quiver Distribution is set to release the holiday-caper heist film tomorrow, November 10. In honor of the project’s distribution, Film Factual is premiering an exclusive clip from the feature.
Stu Stone served as the director on ‘Vandits.’ He also co-wrote the script with Adam Rodness, who served as one of the comedy’s producers, as well. The movie stars Enrico Colantoni (‘Veronica Mars’), Robb Wells (‘Trailer Park Boys’), Tony Nappo (‘Saw II’), Francesco Antonio (Prime’s ‘Wayne’), Jesse Camacho (‘Locke & Key’), Victoria Turko (‘Burden of Truth’) and singer-songwriter Jann Arden.
‘Vandits,’ which is based on an idea and experience that Stone had with his friends, is set in the local bingo hall on Christmas Eve. Only a few hardcore regulars sit and dab away in hopes of yelling out the iconic winning phrase, “Bingo!”
However, on this night, business is about to pick up in a way they could have never imagined. The group of aspiring thieves, who call themselves the titular Vandits, are looking for trouble, and they’re heading in the right direction. Led by their idiot savant, Uncle Sheldon (Nappo), The Vandits are on their way to attempt to pull off their biggest score ever – which also happens to be their first score ever. With the 25K Jackpot on the line, this Christmas Eve heist should go off without a hitch … or so they think.
With a twist at every corner, it seems as though The Vandits are living out their very own Groundhog Day scenario when death continues to find another member of the gang. Now, in a fight against time, they must pull off this ridiculous heist, escape the wrath of the late-night senior citizen bingo dabbers and even try to find love under the mistletoe before death finds them all.
