Body Shop Exclusive Official Trailer Premiere Confronts the World’s Ethical Quandaries While Celebrating the Human Experience

Contending with a similar tragic incident can often unite people of radically diverse cultures, as that event encourages them to challenge commonly accepted conventions. The new LGBT drama, ‘Body Shop,’ powerfully pushes the boundaries of morality, love and the interconnectedness of souls after such an occurrence through its provocative storyline and characters.

Breaking Glass Pictures is set to distribute the foreign arthouse movie, which is presented in Cantonese, English, Japanese, Spanish and Thai, on December 5. In honor of ‘Body Shop’s official release, Film Factual is exclusively premiering the project’s trailer.

The official release for the drama, which was produced in Hong Kong, comes after it had its World Premiere at last year’s Taiwan International Queer Film Festival. The project then went on to have its Hong Kong Premiere at the Hong Kong Lesbian & Gay Film Festival, and its North America Premiere at Reeling in Chicago.

‘Body Shop’ was written, directed and produced by Scud. Breaking Glass Pictures CEO, Rich Wolff praised the filmmaker’s talent by saying: “Scud’s unparalleled storytelling and cinematic vision have consistently captivated audiences worldwide. Collaborating with Scud has been an enriching journey, and Breaking Glass Pictures is proud to continue the partnership, bringing forth films that transcend boundaries and resonate deeply with viewers. Scud’s unique perspective aligns seamlessly with our commitment to diverse and compelling narratives.”

‘Body Shop’ follows the journey of the ghost of a young soldier who, after a tragic incident, bids farewell to his mother. He then embarks on a globe-trotting adventure to reunite with his transgender sister. Armed with charm and the ability to possess living bodies, he intertwines with the romantic lives of unfaithful lovers in Taiwan, Japan, Spain, and Thailand. Amid the backdrop of contemporary Hong Kong protests, the ghost discovers a soul mate, leading them to a concealed garage where human bodies are subjected to treatment beyond moral boundaries.
