Dedicated parents are fearlessly leading a group of trailblazers against the unethical actions committed by a large pharmaceutical corporation in the new thriller, ‘Protocol 7.’ The group members want their misfortune to turn into a blessing for other people. So they’re working together to hold a large pharmaceutical corporation accountable for their allegedly fraudulent test results behind a failing mumps vaccine.
Abramorama is launching the movie’s theatrical release in New York today, Friday, May 30. In honor of the project’s distribution, Film Factual is premiering an exclusive clip, titled ‘Mother!,’ from the feature.
Physician-author Andy Wakefield (‘Vaxxed: From Cover-up to Catastrophe’) wrote the script for the drama with Terry Rossio (‘Pirates of the Caribbean,’ ‘Shrek’). Wakefield also directed the thriller, as well as served as an executive producer with Marcel Jahnke. The movie stars Rachel Whittle (‘The Purge’), Matthew Marsden (‘Black Hawk Down’), Josh Murray (‘General Hospital’) and Eric Roberts (‘Runaway Train,’ ‘King of the Gypsies’).
‘Protocol 7’ is based on the true story of a pharmaceutical whistle blower. The case it’s based on is against Merck, which is accused of falsifying results data associated with their mumps vaccine. The case will be considered for appeal in Philadelphia next month.
The drama follows Alexis Koprowski (Whittle), a devoted mother and small-town family lawyer; Adrian Jay (Marsden), a renegade doctor exiled from the medical profession; and Steve Schilling (Murray), a virologist at a prominent vaccine laboratory-turned-corporate whistleblower; as they work together to hold a large pharmaceutical corporation accountable for allegedly fraudulent test results behind a failing mumps vaccine.
The movie takes viewers behind the corporate curtain to expose a chain of command that devolves responsibility, prioritizes profits over people and fosters an amoral mindset of “just following orders.”
‘Protocol 7’ is opening today in New York City at the Look Dine-in Cinema. The thriller will then open in L.A. on Friday, June 14 at The Laemmle Royal. The film will then expand to multiple U.S. and Canadian cities
‘Protocol 7’s official theatrical release comes after it was celebrated with several honor at this year’s Oniros Film Awards, including Best Feature, Best Director, Best Thriller Film and Best Drama Film. The drama was also honored with the Best Actor & Actress In A Drama Diamond Award at the Best Actor & Director Awards.
