The most expressive people are often those who are tortured by their inability to actually feel emotional or physical pain. That’s certainly the case for actor Jon Peterson’s protagonist, who’s simply referred to as Man, in the new neo-noir thriller, ‘Killer of Men.’
The movie is now available on Digital and Demand, courtesy of Quiver Distribution. The project’s official distribution comes after it had its World Premiere at the Woodstock Film Festival. In honor of the feature’s release, Film Factual is premiering an exclusive clip from the project.
‘Killer of Men’ marks the feature film directorial debut of visionary filmmaker Tzvi. He was inspired to become a filmmaker after he emerged from a religious community where movies were banned. So he defied the odds by becoming a passionate cinephile and making his debut feature on a shoestring budget without any formal film school training.
Tzvi has released the following statement about the drama:
‘Killer of Men’ is about the forgotten people who inhabit the dark corners of metropolises, who hover around lonely laundromats, dilapidated bodegas and dusty diners. ‘Killer of Men’ tries to find hope in the gray sidewalks and murky puddles, god in the godless. The film is a subtle allegory about mankind’s search for emotion and empathy in an increasingly cold, apathetic world. In a time where cinema and the modern world has turned nihilistic, ‘Killer of Men’ strives to be existentialist. The film aims to give us hope, that no matter how low we’ve sunk there is always a chance at redemption
‘Killer of Men,’ which also stars Stacie Brown, Paquito G. Myers and Noah Forrest, follows an emotionless loner who works as a delivery man for a grocery store by day and lurks in the green-lit subways by night, looking for innocent victims to beat to death with a metal rod. When he befriends a lonely school teacher at a laundromat, her compassionate personality offers an escape from his depraved existence, though not before he kills his verbally abusive boss in cold blood. Just as his relationship with the teacher stirs an ember within, a co-worker starts to suspect him in the store owner’s murder, imperiling his chances at redemption.
