True freedom is when people are able to embrace being their true selves, without feeling like they’re not good enough. That’s certainly true for Evie and Ferrell, the main couple in the new screen adaptation of ‘Behind the Red Door.’
Breaking Glass Pictures is set to release the film on Digital on Tuesday, July 23. In honor of the movie’s distribution, Film Factual is exclusively premiering the project’s trailer.
The screen adaptation is based on the acclaimed play of the same name, and was recorded from the stage production. Ivis M. Wonlah wrote, directed and produced the project, which stars Salena Alston, Michelle Gomes Jenkins and Henok Solomon.
‘Behind the Red Door’ explores the depths of human relationships. Evie has met a seemingly charming man who challenges her in every way. Things move rather quickly when Ferrell proposes marriage in only four months.
However, while trying to build on their relationship, both Evie and Ferrell realize that like most relationships, all that glitters isn’t gold. Behind this red door lies a daunting secret.
This uncanny love affair exposes societal and cultural norms that still exist and that perpetuate certain behaviors. But will Evie and Ferrell’s diabolical pasts obstruct their ability to move forward or will the secrets Behind the Red Door bemuse them?
