Unresolved grief can often lead to a person becoming increasingly divided from those around them. It isn’t until the person can accept the differences in those they care about, that they can begin to become a better person. That’s certainly the case for Patrick Fabian’s protagonist of Simon in the new drama, ‘The Way We Speak.’
Gravitas Ventures is set to distribute the movie On Demand and Digital tomorrow, July 23, in the U.S. and Canada. The project’s official release comes after it had a successful festival run at the Florida Film Festival, RiverRun and the Julien Dubuque International Film Festival. In honor of the feature’s distribution, Film Factual is premiering an exclusive clip from the project.
‘The Way We Speak’ marks the feature debut of writer-director-producer Ian Ebright. In addition to Fabian (a 2023 Screen Actors Guild Awards nominee for ‘Better Call Saul’), the drama also stars Diana Coconubo, Kailey Rhodes, Ayanna Berkshire, Lowell Deo, Ricco DiStefano and Reed Diamond.
In ‘The Way We Speak,’ Simon is an up-and-coming writer who refuses to leave the spotlight when his best friend and debate opponent suffers cardiac arrest. As a result, Simon begins a new obsession over his new opponent, which leads to a growing rift with his ailing wife.
‘The Way We Speak’ was edited by Francis Ford Coppola’s long-time collaborator and editor, Robert Schafer (‘Megalopolis’). The new movie was colored by Chris Martin (‘Fruitvale Station’).
