Acsexybility Exclusive Official Trailer Premiere Highlights People with Disabilities Leading Lives Fueled by Desire

Desire is a human right for everyone. The new documentary, ‘Acsexybility,’ is proving that as it highlights the complexities of being disabled and leading a fulfilling sex life, particularly within the queer space.

Breaking Glass Pictures is releasing the movie on VOD on Tuesday, August 13. In honor of the feature’s distribution, Film Factual is exclusively premiering the project’s trailer.

Before its official release, ‘Acsexybility’ was an Official Selection at several festivals, including the Outfest LA Film Festival and the Cleveland International Film Festival, where it was nominated for the Greg Gund Memorial Standing Up Award for filmmaker Daniel Gonçalves. The feature also won Best Documentary at NewFest: New York’s LGBT Film Festival, and Première Brazil – Best Director – Documentary at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival.

Gonçalves wrote and helmed ‘Acsexybility,’ which he also co-produced with Roberto Berliner. The movie features Dudé, Estela Lapponi, Cida Leite, Martins Lelê, Luca Munhoz, Clara Sasse, Amanda Soares and Giovanni Venturini. The documentary, which hails from Brazil, is presented in Portuguese.

‘Acsexybility’ tells stories about the sexuality of people with disabilities. Through the participants’ conversation with Gonçalves, the project talks about flirting, kissing, dating, ableism and, of course, sex. Its greatest strength is precisely hearing from people with disabilities things that society does not expect them to say and do. The filmmakers set out to change the idea that they are asexual, angelic, special and even devoid of desires.
