Chemistry can explode in the most unexpected places, which actor Samba Schuttes’ protagonist of Allen is surprisingly realizing in the new comedy, ‘Advanced Chemistry.’ The film is bringing a sexy, scientific twist to ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ through the main character’s latest chemistry experiment.
Good Deed Entertainment is releasing the movie on digital and On Demand today, October 8, 2024. The comedy’s digital distribution comes after it was released in theaters on September 3, and it had its world premiere at this summer’s Dances With Films: LA. In honor of the project’s digital distribution, Film Factual is premiering an exclusive clip from the feature, which is titled ‘I Just Don’t Feel Comfortable.’
Alec Moore wrote, and Etana Jacobson directed, ‘Advanced Chemistry.’ Besides Schutte, the movie stars an ensemble of actors and touring stand-up comics, including Chaunté Wayans (of the iconic Wayans family), Sarah Burns (HBO’s ‘Barry’), Iqbal Theba (‘Glee’), Kiran Deol (Hulu’s ‘Sunnyside’) and T’Keyah Crystal Keymah (‘That’s So Raven,’ ‘In Living Color’). Moore, Jacobson and Burns also served as producers on the comedy, alongside Jane Miller.
In ‘Advanced Chemistry,’ Allen, a scientist, as he injects his lesbian best friend, Marcia (Wayans), with a compound he’s created to make her stop cheating on her wife, Sarah (Burns), who is bisexual. But when Sarah finds Marcia’s new fixation suffocating, Allen injects Sarah, too, which backfires after she ends up falling for him.
