Green Night Exclusive Clip Highlights the Unspoken Growing Attraction Between Fan Bingbing and Lee Joo-young

The most diverse people an often find comfort in pursuing freedom together as they long to overcome their individual oppressive situations. That’s certainly the case for actresses Fan Bingbing and Lee Joo-young’s distinct protagonists in the new neo-noir thriller, ‘Green Night.’

The LGBTQIA+ drama is set to be released on VOD, Digital and Film Movement Plus this Friday, October 18, 2024. The movie’s official distribution in the U.S. comes after it had its World Premiere, and was nominated for the audience award, at last year’s Berlinale. In honor of ‘Green Night’s American release, Film Factual is premiering an exclusive clip from the project.

Han Shuai, who co-wrote the thriller with Lei Sheng, also directed the feature, which is presented in Korean and Mandarin with English subtitles. Besides Bing and Joo-young, the drama also stars Kim Young Ho and Kim Min Gui.

‘Green Night’ follows Chinese immigrant Jin Xia (Bingbing) as she’s trapped in a cycle of oppression, She works in customs at South Korea’s Incheon Airport, where she encounters a mysterious green-haired girl (Joo-young) acting suspiciously at the security checkpoint.

Overcome by the unspoken attraction between them, she takes the enigmatic stranger home, only to uncover her involvement in a deadly drug trafficking ring. After the two end up killing Xia’s abusive husband, the pair go on the run. But when Xia returns to the crime scene to retrieve the drugs the green-haired girl left behind, their plans for finding freedom together take a dangerous turn.
