Julia Stiles Makes You Wish You Were Here in Directorial Debut’s Trailer Featueing Isabelle Fuhrman and Mena Massoud

The only thing harder than finding someone to build a true connection with is holding onto them, even for just right now. Thats certainly the case for Isabelle Fuhrman and Mena Massoud’s protagonists in the upcoming romantic film, ‘Wish You Were Here.’

Lionsgate will distribute the drama in theaters on January 17 and then on digital on February 4. In honor of the movie’s, release, the studio has unveiled the project’s official trailer.

‘Wish You Were Here’ marks the feature film directorial debut of Julia Stiles (’10 Things I Hate About You,’ ‘Save the Last Dance’). The movie is based on the 2017 best-selling novel of the same name by Renée Carlino. Stiles also co-wrote the film alongside Carlino.

Besides Fuhrman, who previously starred with Stiles in ‘Orphan: First Kill,’ and Massaound, ‘Wish You Were Here’ features Jimmie Fails (‘The Last Black Man in San Francisco,’ ‘Borderline’) and Gabby Kono-Abdy (‘Baker’s ‘Dozen,’ ‘Nighthawks’). Jennifer Grey (‘Dirty Dancing,’ ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’) and Kelsey Grammer (‘Cheers,’ ‘Frasier’) also appear in supporting roles.

‘Wish You Were Here’ chronicles the process of leaving the everyday world behind to take a chance on true romance. When the perfect night with a perfect stranger ends suddenly the next morning, Charlotte (Fuhrmans) searches for answers and meaning in her disappointing life until she uncovers a secret that changes everything.
