What’s meant to be a fun family party is quickly transforming into a desperate fight for survival for the protagonists of the new French survival thriller, ‘Survive.’ The family in the sci-fi adventure movie, including Julia, her loving husband and their young son and daughter, must do whatever it takes to protect themselves in a harrowing post-storm nightmare.

‘Survive’ is now playing in theaters in over 15 markets, as well as on digital and On Demand, in North America, courtesy of Samuel Goldwyn Films. The drama’s official distribution comes after it first premiered at FrightFest. In honor of the feature’s American release, Film Factual is premiering an exclusive clip from the project, which is titled ‘Meteorites.’

Frédéric Jardin directed ‘Survive,’ which was written by Matt Alexander. The thriller stars Emilie Dequenne (‘Close’) as Julia, as well as Andreas Pietschmann (‘Dark’), Lisa Delamar, Lucas Ebel and Arben Bajraktaraj.

In ‘Survive,’ Julia and her husband, Tom (Pietschmann), are celebrating their son’s birthday on their boat in the middle of the ocean. When a violent storm nearly capsizes them, the family awakes in a desert land. Earth has undergone a tragic polarity reversal, draining water from the oceans. The family must race to safety before the water returns all while battling hungry creatures from the abyss that hunt for fresh flesh.
