William Tell Exclusive Clip Features the Titular Swiss Master Archer Fighting Back Against the Austrian Habsburg Family

The titular peaceful huntsman must make a moral compromise in his journey of political resistance in the new historical movie, William Tell.’ The Swiss peasant and master archer became a European legend for garnering the courage to fight back against the Austrian Habsburg Family as it invaded new lands in its desperate bid for power.

Samuel Goldwyn Films initially distributed the resistance epic in U.S. theaters on April 4. The medieval action drama is now being released digitally this Friday, April 25. In honor of the feature’s digital premiere, Film Factual is debuting an exclusive clip from the project.

BAFTA-award winning filmmaker Nick Hamm wrote, directed and produced ‘William Tell.’ The movie stars Claes Bang (‘The Square,’ ‘Dracula’) in the eponymous role. The drama’s supporting cast includes Connor Swindells (‘Barbie,’ ‘Sex Education,’ ‘Emma’), Golshifteh Farahani (‘Paterson,’ ‘Extraction’), Jonah Hauer-King (‘The Little Mermaid,’ ‘The Tattooist of Auschwitz’), Ellie Bamber (‘Moss & Freud,’ ‘Nocturnal Animals’), Rafe Spall (‘Life of Pi,’ ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,’ ‘The Big Short) and Emily Beecham (‘The Interpreter, Little Joe’). They’re joined on screen by Academy-Award winner Ben Kingsley and Oscar nominee Jonathan Pryce (‘The Two Popes,’ ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘The Age of Innocence,’ ‘The Wife’).

Inspired by the legendary tale, ‘William Tell’ follows the titular noble huntsman whose peaceful life is shattered when the ruthless Austrian Empire invades his homeland of Switzerland. Unwilling to bend the knee before his country’s oppressors, William is thrust into a perilous trial, one that draws him and his family into the epicenter of a revolution that will shape the destiny of his nation.
