Actress Airisa Durand is fighting to stay alive during a ruthless competition in the upcoming horror thriller, ‘The Lizzie Borden Game.’ Breaking Glass Pictures has premiered the official trailer and poster for the film, in anticipation of its worldwide release. The distributor unveiled the assets for the action comedy in anticipation of its premiere on digital platforms on August 1, 2025.

Cult horror auteur Calvin Morie McCarthy (‘Conjuring: The Beyond,’ ‘Conjuring: The Cult, Beware the Boogeyman,’ ‘An Amityville Poltergeist.’) wrote and directed the movie.

“Calvin has such a unique voice as a filmmaker, and we’ve had the pleasure of working with him across many of his films,” said Rich Wolff, CEO of Breaking Glass Pictures and producer of the thriller. “‘The Lizzie Borden Game’ is his most fun and ferocious project yet – creepy, fast-paced and perfect for fans of horror that doesn’t take itself too seriously.”

Besides Durand, the thriller also stars Jason Brooks (‘Friday the 13th: Vengeance’), Laura Wilson and Jessica Noel Thompson. Chynna Rae Shurts portrays the titular character in the film.

‘The Lizzie Borden Game’ follows Emily (Durand) as she struggles with the sudden and mysterious death of her parents. During her recover, she’s invited to a secluded Friendsgiving retreat at a gothic castle. But what begins as a chance to heal quickly turns into a waking nightmare when the group unearths an eerie local legend, and dares to play the titular game. While playing the game, a deadly portal is opened, which unleashes the vengeful spirit of the infamous axe murderess herself.
