The past is notorious for reflecting a wide range of current affairs and newsworthy topics. The current 41st edition of the Boston Film Festival is honoring that tradition. The festival is featuring projects that shed light on unique people, crucial social issues and extraordinary stories in the past and present that inform and inspire viewers.

Much like its preceding entries at the Boston Film Festival, the new war drama, ‘The Fallow Few,’ is enlightening audiences. The thriller is also elevating dynamic voices and sparking vital conversations.

Joshua Rappaport made his feature film directorial and producing debuts on ‘The Fallow Few.’ The movie stars Bradley James, Luke Brandon Field, Tony Robinson, Christopher Bonwell, Ashleigh Reynolds, Oliver Norman, Louis Davison, Fin Alpin, Maisie Asbury and Paraic Bermingham.

Rappaport also served as a producer on the drama. He was joined by fellow producers Jake Seal and Kevin Marshall.

The UK production will have its International Premiere tonight, Friday, September 19 at 7:00pm ET at the Boston Film Festival. The sold-out screening will be held at the Emerson Paramount Theater’s Bright Family Screening Room.

The screening will include a post-screening Q&A with such cast and crew members as Rappaport, Bonwell, Seal and cinematographer Luka Bazeli. The Q&A will be moderated by NBC10 Boston anchor Monica Madeja. 

‘The Fallow Few’ is based on a true story. The story is set in December 1916 on the Western Front. A disillusioned soldier, tasked with guarding British deserters on death row, disobeys his superiors to save his latest charge’s life at the eleventh hour.

Rappaport and James generously took the time earlier this week to talk about scribing, helming, producing and starring in ‘The Fallow Few’ during an exclusive interview over Zoom. The discussion with the filmmaker and actor can be viewed in the above video.
