The LeMieurs Exclusive Trailer Premiere Celebrates Documentary’s World Premiere at the Slamdance Film Festival

Fearing regret and desperate to keep hold of their history is a powerful motivator for many families to settle their differences and share their support. That’s certainly the case for the five sons of a small-town Minnesota matriarch who must reconcile her growing older. The family is showcased in the new documentary, ‘The LeMieurs.’

The project is set to have its World Premieres in competition during the Documentary Features section at this year’s Slamdance Film Festival. In honor of the movie’s premiere during the festival, Film Factual is premiering the feature’s exclusive trailer.

The documentary will screen this Friday, February 20 at 2:15pm PT at Landmark Sunset Hollywood Theater 5. The film will screen again this Saturday, February 21 at 7:15pm PT, also at Landmark Sunset Hollywood Theater 5.

Sammy LeMieur directed ‘The LeMieurs.’ The movie features Beverly LeMieur, Tim LeMieur, Seth LeMieur, Kyle LeMieur, Steve LeMieur, Mikey LeMieur, Eli LeMieur, Jim LeMieur and John LeMieur.

‘The LeMieurs’ follows filmmaker Sammy LeMieur as he had his camera on hand for a four-year period of fervid transition within his own family. His relationship to his subjects – including his surgeon father and mortician brother – evolves as they do.

What begins as the simple capture of family gatherings and the goings-on of a small-town funeral home develops into a layered, often stark, and always honest meditation on loss, change, and the beauty and burden of tradition. The smallest observed moments take on potent emotional valence, accentuated by the passing of the seasons. The LeMieurs can handle bitter winter, but they must also contend with the melancholy of spring.
