Gerard Butler is tasked with destroying the nuclear program of America’s enemies in Iran in the new teaser trailer for the upcoming action movie, ‘Kandahar.’ But his mission isn’t a total success – he has to fight to make sure his own life isn’t also demolished in the rubble. Open Road Films released the teaser trailer in support of the feature’s upcoming theatrical release on May 26, 2023.
The thriller was written by Mitchell LaFortune and Ric Roman Waugh, the latter of whom also served as the director. ‘Kandahar’ was produced by Basil Iwanyk, Brendon Boyea, Erica Lee, Butler, Alan Siegel, Christian Mercuri, Ali Jaafar, Scott LaStaiti. In addition to Butler, the drama also stars Navid Negahban, Ali Fazal, Travis Fimmel and Elnaaz Norouzi.
In ‘Kandahar,’ Tom Harris (Butler), an undercover CIA operative, is stuck deep in hostile territory in Afghanistan. After his mission is exposed, he must fight his way out, alongside his Afghan translator, to an extraction point in the titular city in Afghanistan, all whilst avoiding elite enemy forces and foreign spies tasked with hunting them down.

Fun Film Fact: Waugh previously directed Butler in the action thrillers, ‘Angel Has Fallen’ and ‘Greenland.’
