
‘Ready or Not 2: Here I Come’ is set to slash its way into theaters on April 10, 2026. The film’s distributor, Searchlight Pictures, shared the project’s release today on Instagram. The announcement coincides with the drama wrapping its principal photography, which began in April in Toronto, today.
The upcoming horror movie is serving as the sequel to the 2019 cult classic, ‘Ready or Not.’ The original film’s helmers, Radio Silence, which is comprised of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, returned to the franchise to direct its new follow-up.
The series’ upcoming entry also includes several other returning members of the creative team, including writers Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy. Production designer Andrew Stearn (‘The Umbrella Academy’), director of photography Brett Jutkiewicz (‘Scream’), costume designer Avery Plewes (‘Scream VI‘) and makeup head of department Colin Penman (‘The Apprentice’) also returned for the series.
Searchlight Pictures has not yet released ‘Ready or Not 2: Here I Come’s official synopsis. But the original movie follows protagonist Grace Maccaullay as she unwittingly marries into a family of ultra-wealthy devil-worshippers who are intent on killing her before sunrise in a murderous game of hide and seek. The drama also starred Samara Weaving as Grace, as well as Adam Brody, Andie MacDowell and Henry Czerny.
‘Ready or Not’ made $28 million at the domestic box office against a $6 million. As a result, it became Searchlight Picturess’ biggest release of 2019.
Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, Bradley J. Fischer and William Sherak are producing the film’s sequel. The new movie’s executive producers include Chad Villella, Tara Farney, Greg Denny, Busick, Murphy, Weaving and Paul Neinstein.
Weaving will be joined on screen in the series’ sophomore entry by fellow scream queens Kathryn Newton and Sarah Michelle Gellar. The follow-up also stars Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, David Cronenberg and Elijah Wood.
