Two of last year’s nominees are back as part of the team for The Batman: Naomi Donne, previously nominated for 1917 and Cruella, and Mike Marino, cited last year for Coming 2 America. Up this year for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Joel Harlow won in 2009 for Star Trek and was later nominated for Star Trek Beyond. On the Elvis team this time around, Mark Coulier won in 2011 for The Iron Lady and in 2014 for The Grand Budapest Hotel, with an additional nomination in 2020 for Pinocchio, and Aldo Signoretti was nominated for Moulin Rouge!, Apocalypto, and Il Divo. Recognized for The Whale, Adrien Morot was previously cited for Barney’s Version. Both artists from All Quiet on the Western Front are first-time nominees. At the Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards, prizes went to Elvis, The Whale, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The likely competition will be adding hundreds of pounds to Brendan Fraser or making Austin Butler look like Elvis.
