Investigate the Divergence of Race, Power and Politics in 88 Exclusive Clip

Examining the divergence of race, money, power and politics through the lens of a Black family is one of the most vital investigations that modern society can embark on. The new political thriller, ’88,’ is powerfully challenging audiences to explore that disparity through the realistic experience of its protagonists.

Samuel Goldwyn Films is set to distribute the feature on VOD and Digital platforms tomorrow, March 24. ’88’s official release comes after it was unveiled in theaters on February 17. In honor of the mystery drama’s official distribution, Film Factual is premiering an exclusive clip from the project.

’88’ was written, directed, produced and edited by Eromose (‘Legacy’). The movie was executive produced by Lenard ‘Charlamagne Tha God’ Mckelvey.

The thriller features an ensemble cast that includes Naturi Naughton (‘Fame’), Orlando Jones (‘Abbott Elementary’), Thomas Sadoski (‘John Wick’), Brandon Victor Dixon (‘The Best Man: The Final Chapters’), Michael Harney (‘Orange is the New Black’), William Fichtner (‘Mom’), Kelly McCreary (‘Grey’s Anatomy’), Jon Tenney (‘Scandal’) and Kenneth Choi (‘9-1-1,’ ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’).

’88’ follows Femi Jackson (Dixon), the financial director for a Democratic super PAC behind a frontrunner presidential candidate, as he discovers unusual patterns in donations. As a result, he enlists an investment blogger, Ira Goldstein (Sadoski), to dig deeper. As Femi’s wife Maria (Naughton) strives to educate their son on the dangers he will face in modern society while she fights racial and classist bias at work, Femi and Ira follow the campaign money trail back to its nefarious origins in a race to uncover the truth before the presidential primaries.

Fun Film Fact: ’88’ had its World Premiere at last year’s Tribeca Festival.
