‘Corporate Retreat,’ the award-winning dark comedy horror feature that has emerged as a social media viral phenomenon, is heading to the Sitges Film Festival for its Spanish Premiere. The movie will screen on Saturday, October 11 at 1:15 am.
The dark comedy will screen in the festival’s Midnight X-Treme section during the 59th edition of the genre showcase. Midnight X-Treme is among Sitges’ signature genre programs, spotlighting independent horror and fantastic movies that embrace the more extreme edges of contemporary genre filmmaking.
The Sitges selection comes after a festival run that began with the movie’s world premiere at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival. ‘Corporate Retreat’ subsequently took home the Best Ensemble Cast prize at the 2026 Fantaspoa Festival and was nominated for Best Horror Feature at the Raindance Festival.
Aaron Fisher directed the dark comedy, after co-writing the script with Kerri Lee Romeo. The movie stars Alan Ruck and Odeya Rush. The film’s acclaimed supporting ensemble cast includes Ashton Sanders, Rosanna Arquette, Sasha Lane, Benjamin Norris, Zión Moreno, Tyler Alvarez, Elias Kacavas, Kirby Johnson and Ellen Toland.
‘Corporate Retreat’ turns the titular getaway into a survival-horror nightmare. The story follows a group of ambitious tech executives who gather at a remote desert estate for a luxury team-building weekend. Their carefully managed corporate exercise soon takes a sinister turn, however, when the participants find themselves trapped in a brutal survival game.
As the executives are forced to compete for their lives, the story shifts between workplace satire and outright horror, using its increasingly bloody scenario to examine the dehumanizing dynamics of corporate culture. The result is a mix of dark comedy, survival thriller and graphic genre spectacle.
Uri Singer, whose producing credits include ‘White Noise,’ produced ‘Corporate Retreat’ through Passage Pictures. Radial Entertainment is handling domestic distribution, with Andrew Herwitz’s Film Sales Company representing the feature internationally.
‘Corporate Retreat’ will screen at Sitges with an unusually broad audience already familiar with its premise, thanks to the movie’s substantial online reach. Its Midnight X-Treme screening gives the thriller another opportunity to connect with the festival’s notoriously enthusiastic late-night genre crowd – an audience well accustomed to finding horror in places where it probably shouldn’t be.
