Actresses Ashley Park, Sherry Cola, Stephanie Hsu and Sabrina Wu are embarking on a hilarious and unapologetically explicit journey of identity and self-discovery in the new first look image for the upcoming raunchy comedy, ‘Joy Ride.’ The image was unveiled by Lionsgate after the distributor announced the film’s official title and theatrical release date of June 23, 2023.
The movie was written by Cherry Chevapravatdumrong and Teresa Hsiao, who also worked on the story with the feature’s director, Adele Lim. ‘Joy Ride’ was produced by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Josh Fagen, Cherry Chevapravatdumrong, Teresa Hsiao and Lim. The comedy also stars Ronny Chieng (‘Crazy Rich Asians’), Desmond Chiam (‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’), Alexander Hodge (‘Insecure’) and Chris Pang (‘Crazy Rich Asians’).
‘Joy Ride’ follows four unlikely friends who embark on a once-in-a-lifetime international adventure. When Audrey’s (Park) business trip to Asia goes sideways, she enlists the aid of Lolo (Cola), her irreverent, childhood best friend who also happens to be a hot mess; Kat (Hsu), her college friend turned Chinese soap star; and Deadeye (Wu), Lolo’s eccentric cousin. Their no-holds-barred, epic experience becomes a journey of bonding, friendship, belonging and wild debauchery that reveals the universal truth of what it means to know and love who you are.

‘Joy Ride’s release comes after it was announced in August 2018 that Rogen and Goldberg were in negotiations to partner with Lionsgate through their production company Point Grey Pictures in a first-look deal to develop film and television projects.
