Peacock has unveiled the official trailer and key art for ‘Crystal Lake,’ its highly anticipated ‘Friday the 13th’ prequel series. The newly released assets highlight how the show explores the origins of the horror film franchise’s infamous family. The drama’s assets also offer the firs substantial look into the character-driven examination of the mystery surrounding Pam Voorhees’s devastating loss.

All eight, hour-long episodes of ‘Crystal Lake’ will premiere on Thursday, October 15. The episodes will stream exclusively on Peacock, courtesy of producer A24.

The series travels back to the town that became synonymous with Jason Voorhees and the ‘Friday the 13th’ mythology. Set before the events of the original franchise, ‘Crystal Lake’ follows Pam Voorhees, a single mother struggling with grief.

Nearly one year has passed since her young, sickly son Jason tragically drowned in the town lake. His death continues to haunt Pam as she attempts to navigate life in the troubled community.

Pam’s fragile existence changes when two strangers arrive at her door with questions about her past. Their investigation triggers a disturbing chain of events across Crystal Lake, leaving residents searching for answers. The central mystery becomes increasingly unsettling: Just who is Pam Voorhees?

Brad Caleb Kane serves as the creator, writer, showrunner and executive producer on ‘Crystal Lake.’ his credits include ‘It: Welcome to Derry,’ ‘Tokyo Vice’ and ‘Warrior,’ bringing substantial television experience to his latest project.

Michael Lennox also serves as an executive producer and directs the series’ first three episodes. Celine Held and Logan George direct episodes four through six, while Quyen Tran directs episodes seven and eight.

The upcoming show stars Linda Cardellini as Pam Voorhees. She’s joined on screen by William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins and Gwendolyn Sundstrom. The drama’s recurring cast members include Callum Vinson, Nick Cordileone, Joy Suprano, Danielle Kotch and Phoenix Parnevik.
