Titled V/H/S: SCP, the upcoming movie will premiere in theaters next year. A24 will hold worldwide rights to the film and co-produce the project.

Michael Schreiber will also work on the producing team. His previous V/H/S credits include V/H/S/94 and V/H/S/Beyond.
Image Nation Studios CEO Ben Ross will executive produce the upcoming film with Spooky Pictures executives Rami Yasin and Jakob Pollack. Brad Miska will also serve as an executive producer.
The companies see internet-born horror as an increasingly important source for theatrical storytelling. The SCP Foundation provides an especially large mythology for filmmakers to explore.
Following the Success of Backrooms
The movie also follows A24’s recent success with another internet-born horror phenomenon. The distributor’s Backrooms became a major theatrical success after adapting the viral internet phenomenon created by filmmaker Kane Parsons.
The film has earned more than $394 million worldwide. Parsons originally gained attention through viral shorts exploring the mysterious liminal spaces of the Backrooms.
That success demonstrates the theatrical potential of online horror communities. The SCP Foundation arrives with an even broader mythology and an established international fan base.
