Fantastic Fest 2026 Unleashes 3 Chilling New Horror Movies: What Happened to Doris?, Play House and I Have Proof

Fantastic Fest is once again preparing to unsettle genre fans with a trio of chilling new horror films. This year’s lineup explores supernatural terror, buried secrets and fractured realities. ‘What Happened to Doris?,’ ‘Play House’ and ‘I Have Proof’ each deliver a different kind of nightmare. Together, they promise to make Fantastic Fest, taking place at Austin’s Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar from tomorrow, September 17 – Friday, September 24, a must-visit destination for horror enthusiasts seeking something darker.

‘What Happened to Doris?’ revisits one of America’s most notorious paranormal cases. The movie follows Doris Bither, a single mother who reported violent supernatural attacks in 1974. Her Culver City home soon became the center of terrifying investigations. UCLA researchers documented a series of disturbing incidents inside the house. The film tells the story through the eyes of the family who experienced it.

Heather Graham leads the cast as Doris in the harrowing supernatural horror story. Mimi Rogers, Marcus Coloma, Kevin Keppy, Daniel Reed Ferrell and Margo Parker also star in the feature. Nick Simon directed the movie, which was written by Thomas Fenton. Produced by Entity Returns LLC, the film examines belief, trauma and the cost of disbelief.

Nicolas Curcio helmed and co-writes the movie with Kirby Gladstein. Will Harrison, Jessica Sula, Jordan Gonzalez and James Urbaniak lead the cast.
